Lifetime best mile gets senior runner weekly honors
Jacob Kirk was named the Big Sky Conference Track of the Week following another breakout performance in his senior season. At the MSU Double Dual, he clocked in with a personal best time of 4:02.13, five seconds ahead of second place and just seconds away from the elusive, sub-4 minute race.
Not only did Kirk win the race, his time now ranks him 10th in the nation, the first top-ten ranking of his career. The weekly award also marks his first league recognition of this kind. His win the mile, marked his second in as many races in 2014 after he won the 3,000 just one week prior.
