He also set a new program record in the hammer throw and was named a 2013 All-American after his performance at the NCAA meet. He also won the indoor weight throw and outdoor hammer at the Big Sky Championships and closed out a career with multiple Big Sky All-Academic nods

12. Grant Grosvenor and Matt Tex finish first and second, respectively, in the outdoor 800 at the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge, hosted by Sacramento State back in April. Their respective times of 1:49.28 and 1:49.44 both beat the previous program record of 1:49.61 set by Pat Casey in 2011 and also marked the duo's first sub-1:50 race.
11. Women's Tennis player Ellie Crum is named to the First Team Academic All-District and earned her third consecutive All-Big Sky Academic honor.
10. Volleyball player Kennadie Clute is named the Big Sky Freshman of the Year, Montana State's first since 2001. She finished her rookie season with 513 kills and 560.5 points, both Big Sky Conference leads. Her 513 kills marked the second most in a single-season and was the leading freshman in all of NCAA D1 in point and kill production.
9. The Montana State Ski team sent a full squad of 12 skiers to the 2013 NCAA Skiing Championships in Middlebury, Vt. for the first time in program history. Overall, MSU placed ninth as a team with David Norris notching the two highest finishes, coming in 11th in the 10K Classic and 12th in the 20K Freestyle.
8. While the end of the 2013 Montana State Football may have come sooner than we all hoped, the 11 seniors on this year's squad will leave Montana State as one of the most decorated in recent history. Of the 11 Bobcats, they featured a Buck Buchanan winner and First Team All-American, two Big Sky MVPs, five program record holders and three Big Sky Championships just to name a few of their impressive accolades.
7. Montana State wins the Big Sky Conference Men's All-Sports Trophy for the third time in ten years. MSU earned seven points at the outdoor track and field championship, to seal the trophy for the Bobcats and also placed fifth overall and second at the indoor meet. Men's Tennis and Football won regular season titles also helping in the program victory.
6. Paige Crawford is the first Bobcat since 1995 to win Big Sky Women's Golf Championship medalist honors and set a 54-hole championship record, carding 208 (73-68-67). Her final round score of 67 also marked a new single round record.
5. Bobcat Men's Tennis had a banner year, literally, in 2013. In his first year as head coach at MSU, Jared Burnham led his players to the Big Sky Conference regular season title adding to their trophies won in 2000, 2004, 2005 and 2006. After a successful debut season with the Bobcat Burnham went on to earn Big Sky Coach of the Year honors for the sport.
4. It was a tie between Tanner Bleskin and Heather Demorest, both having huge senior seasons in their sport. Bleskin becomes the first Bobcat to earn Capital One First Team Academic All-American honors since Travis Lulay in 2005. He earned Second Team honors in 2012 and becomes MSU's first two-time selection since 2003. In addition to his academic prowess, he also set a new record in catches (194) and receiving yards (2,816) in the Bobcat Record Books.
Demorest finished her senior season with Bobcat Cross Country with two individual wins, a Big Sky Championship Runner-Up finish, was the highest finishing Big Sky runner at the NCAA Mountain Regional meet and placed 58th at her first NCAA Championship meet! Demorest was the first women's team member to run at NCAA's since 2003!
2. Semansky became the first Montana State Women's Basketball player to become a two-time CoSida Academic All-American, her junior and senior seasons. She lead the team in Field Goal Percentage, to boot.
1. The 2013 winner of the Buck Buchanan Award (MSU's second in a row, by the way), multiple All-American nods (just this season), a Hendricks Award finalist, Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Big Sky, fourth in career sacks (34) in program history and a team captain were just a few things on Brad Daly's Bobcat resume to earn him the number one ranking in our 2013 countdown.
