ON THE OPEN ROAD:
The Montana State volleyball team will take to the Big Sky Conference road for the first time when it travels to the Pacific Northwest where it will face Eastern Washington and Portland State. The Bocbats open the week in Cheney, Wash., on Thursday, Sept. 26 when it meets EWU at 7 p.m. (MST) on Reese Court. MSU will close out the weekend on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m., against Big Sky Conference preseason favorite Portland State in the Stott Center.
ABOUT THE BOBCATS:
The Bobcats are 2-11 overall and 0-2 in Big Sky Conference action after dropping a pair of 3-1 decisions to North Dakota and Northern Colorado to open league play. Montana State head coach Kyle Weindel was pleased with his team's offensive efforts despite dropping a 25-22, 25-20, 21-25, 25-12 decision to Northern Colorado on Saturday. A night after just having two players in double-figure kills in a 3-1 loss to North Dakota, Weindel saw three Bobcats hit the double-digit kill plateau, with a fourth just one kill away against the Bears. Loni Kreun guided the Bocbats with her third double-double of the season with a team-high 15 kills and 11 digs. Also hitting double-digit kills were Kennadie Clute 14 and Natalee Godfrey 10. Eli Svisco recorded her best outing of the season with nine kills, a .381 attack mark and two blocks. Hitting miscues, coupled with service errors gave North Dakota 39 points as UND posted a 25-12, 25-22, 20-25, 25-14 win over the Bobcats on Friday. MSU's left-side duo of Clute and Kreun had a solid outing against UND. Clute finished with a season and match-high 28 kills, while hitting .316 from the field, while Kreun added 12 kills.
