MSU falls in Saturday afternoon contest
It took Cal State Fullerton a while to warm up Saturday, but when the Titans got hot, they really got hot.
After starting the game 1-for-5 from the field, Cal State Fullerton finished the first half on a 17-for-24 tear to grab a 49-25 lead at the intermission en route to an 84-55 win over Montana State in Bozeman.
As hot as the Titans were early Saturday, Montana State was cold. The Cats shot 8-for-26 in the first half and just 34% for the game. Alex Harris scored 20 points to lead four CSF players in double-digits. Paul Egwuonwu and Flavien Davis each scored 10 points to lead MSU.
The Bobcats trailed by seven at 23-16 with 8:18 to play in the first half when Stephan Holm sank a couple of free throws, but Harris' three-pointer triggered a 15-1 run over the next four minutes and a 26-9 run to close the half.
Cal State Fullerton out-rebounded the Bobcats 35-26 on the night, and forced 12 MSU turnovers while giving it away just eight times. The Bobcats return to action next Saturday at UC Riverside.
