Three more Bobcats compete on second day of Regionals
While day two of the NCAA West Region Preliminary didn't produce any more national qualifiers, Montana State came close in sending another athlete to Des Moines for the NCAA Track and Field Championships.
David Phillips came in 13th place in the hammer throw, just one place shy of automatically advancing to the NCAA Championships. He threw a distance of 60.85m (199-08).
Also competing on Friday was Chris Wilson in the 200. Wilson clocked in with a time of 21.86 and came in 44th overall. Wilson also competed in the 100 on Thursday.
Heather Haug was the third and final Bobcat competing on Friday where she placed 47th in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 11:22.99.
Saturday is the last day of the Regional meet. Two more Bobcats will look to advance on the NCAA Championships. Amanda Murphy will compete in the hammer throw, while Dan Jackson will race in the 5,000.
