Haug Competes at USATF Championships

Middle Distance standout finishes in top-10 at national meet
Heather Haug competed in the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. on Sunday, Feb. 26. Haug, who is redshirting this indoor season ran in the 1,500 meter run and came in ninth place with a time of 4:26.90, placing first in her heat. Because of altitude, Haug's adjusted time comes out to 4:20.73, marking a lifetime best for the Livingston, Mont. native. (Race Results)
“This is a great thing for Heather,” said head coach Dale Kennedy. “It can be difficult during a redshirt season so for her to get a chance to compete, especially at the national level, is helpful for her training for the spring and a big boost for her overall.”
Haug ranks second in the Bobcat record books in both the 800 (2:11.96) and the mile (4:45.16). She will compete in the outdoor season beginning on March 30 at the Al Manuel Invitational hosted by the University of Montana.
