MSU gets one more chance to make meet standards
Their last chance is here. Montana State is slated to host the Bobcat Open on Friday, Feb. 17, as one final opportunity to improve on their marks or qualify for the Big Sky Championships. The meet also marks the final home meet of the indoor season. (Meet Schedule)
Joining the Bobcats at the meet will be competitors from Great Falls, Montana, Rocky Mountain, as well as unattached athletes.
The Bobcat women have 17 student-athletes qualified in 12 events, with five women having tabbed marks in more than one event. The men have 16 with their ticket punched in 13 different events. The Big Sky Conference will allow up to 22 athletes per team to compete in Flagstaff, Ariz. on Feb. 24-25 at the meet.
“As we all know, this is the final chance for several of our kids to make the cut,” said head coach Dale Kennedy. “We had a lot of kids meet the standards last week, but we still have a few more that are really close to getting to Flagstaff.”
The meet will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the field events and 5:30 p.m. will mark the start of track events.
Montana State will host their next home meet on Saturday, April 7, at the Montana State University Open, at the newly renovated Bobcat Track and Field Complex.
