Montana State hosts first-place Northern Colorado Thursday
Montana State looks to get back on the winning track Thursday, but the task is tall as league-leading Northern Colorado comes to town. This weekend sets up as a crucial weekend for the Bears, who seek their first Big Sky basketball championship, as the team faces MSU in Bozeman on Thursday before battling second-place Montana in Missoula on Saturday. League MVP candidate Devon Beitzel leads NC with 19.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, and his next three-pointer gives him 200 for his career, a mark matched by only 11 other Big Sky players (including Bobcat star Danny Sprinkle). The Bobcats continue to struggle with offensive inconsistency, shooting just 35% in the last five outings. Bobby Howard and Erik Rush continue to pace the Bobcats.
