Montana State (3-19, 2-9) was paced by senior Rachelle Allen with a team-high eight kills. In addition, she added ten digs, two blocks and two assists. Also contributing for MSU was libero Nicole Baker with 11 digs.
Portland State (12-11, 8-3) was led by Tineke Bierma and Aubrey Mitchell with 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
Montana State will play at Eastern Washington on Saturday night.
