Bobcats look to get back on track in Pocatello on Monday
Montana State looks to rebound from a 75-61 loss at Montana on Saturday in a rare Monday night conference game at Idaho State. The Bobcats (11-8 overall, 5-2 in the Big Sky) remain in third place in the league, two games ahead of three squads. Idaho State, 1-5 (5-13 overall) but with a very difficult four-game stretch in the rear view mirror, looks to claw its way back into the Big Sky race with six of the team's next nine league games at home.
Sizing Up the Bengals
Idaho State boasts a formidable inside-outside attack, with mercurial guard Broderick Gilchrest averaging a team-high 14.8 points and bruising center Deividas Busma chipping in 12.6 points and 7.9 boards a game. The Bengals out-rebound their Big Sky opponents 35.8 to 34.2, but shoot only 29.9% from the floor in conference play.
Sizing Up the Bobcats
The senior duo of Bobby Howard and Erik Rush continue to lead the Bobcats, combining for 22 points and 16 rebounds against Montana Saturday. The Bobcats continue to take care of the ball well, with a league-low 11.9 turnovers per game, but remain in the middle of the pack in shooting and rebounding. The Bobcats stand seventh in both field goal shooting and rebound margin. Erik Rush (15.6, fourth in the Big Sky) and Bobby Howard (14.8 ppg, sixth) lead the Bobcats offensively. Of the 200 minutes in Saturday's game at Montana, Bobcat freshmen accounted for 42.
