
Eastern Washington clips Bobcat spikers

Eastern Washington handed the Montana State volleyball team a 3-0 setback Friday night in Cheney.
The Montana State volleyball team dropped a 25-23, 25-22, 25-20 decision, Friday night on Reese Court.
Montana State (10-13, 3-7) was paced by junior middle blocker Chelsea Oemcke, who recorded a team-high eight kills, while hitting .571 from the floor. She finished with 14 attempts and no hitting errors and recorded one block.
For the match, Eastern Washington (6-15, 5-6) outhit the Bobcats .175 to .072, while also holding advantages in kills, aces, digs and blocks.
Defensively, MSU was led by freshman Nicole Baker with a career-high 13 digs. Junior Alex Penewell added a team-best three blocks and freshman setter Mackenzi Campbell dished out 23 assists, while adding eight digs.
EWU was led by Shelby Puckett and Alysha Cook with 11 kills each.
MSU plays at Portland on Saturday night in the Stott Center.
