Nicola Norris is the Head Coach of the Montana State University Spirit Squad, where she oversees the university’s cheer team, dance team, and mascot program. She joined MSU Athletics in 2024 and brings a wealth of professional performance and leadership experience to the role.
A California native, Nicola earned a double bachelor's degree in dance and history from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she was a member of the UCSB dance program from 2009 to 2012. Following her collegiate experience, she went on to perform professionally as a Raiderette for the Oakland and Las Vegas Raiders from 2017 to 2022, serving as a two-year captain, part of the inaugural Las Vegas team, and was named Dancer of the Year. During her tenure, she performed alongside renowned artists including Ludacris, Lil Jon, Too $hort, Run DMC, and Jess Glynne.
Before joining Montana State, Nicola also worked with the Oakland Athletics as a Premium Service Manager, gaining valuable experience in professional sports operations and fan engagement. Alongside her coaching role, she also works full-time as an Executive Assistant for a tech company based in San Francisco, where she skillfully balances her professional career with her passion for collegiate athletics and mentorship.
Now based in Bozeman, Montana, Nicola is passionate about building a spirited, high-performing program that reflects the pride and tradition of Bobcat Nation. She lives with her husband, Keaton Gillogly, known as the voice of the MSU Bobcats.
