A long-time veteran of cheer and dance in Montana and Washington, Katie Suarez, begins her first season as head coach of the Bobcat Spirit Squad.
Suarez, a former Bobcat cheer captain in the mid-90s, helped guide MSU to the UCA College Co-Ed Nationals during her tenure in the Blue and Gold. She also served as captain on two semi-pro cheer and dance teams in Montana and Washington.
During her career, Suarez coached several competitive high school co-ed teams and cultivated numerous high school athletes to move on to the collegiate level. She is an active member of the Washington State Cheer Coaches Association; the Washington State Cheer Judges Association; and has served as head judge at state cheerleading competitions in Washington, Oregon, and Montana.
A fifth generation Montanan, she graduated from Sentinel High School in Missoula. Her father played football for the Bobcats in the 70s under legendary coach Sonny Holland.
