Julia Hayes

Bobcat alumna and Bozeman local Julia Hayes was named the Nordic assistant coach in August, 2026. A native of Frisco, Colorado, Hayes skied with the Bobcats from 2011 to 2015 before graduating with a degree in Exercise Science.
Hayes served as head Nordic coach for the Bridger Ski Foundation from 2019 to 2024, where she was named a BSF Coach of the Year in 2023. While coaching at BSF, Hayes was one of eight female coaches who participated in the National Nordic Foundation’s Trail to Gold Fellowship, where she spent two weeks on the 2024 World Cup circuit coaching, waxing, and preparing US National Team athletes for competition.
In addition to her time at BSF, Hayes was involved in the US Ski Team’s development projects, working with athletes aged 18-23. Her resume includes four National Development Camps (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025), three National Elite Groups (2022, 2024, 2025), and the World Junior/U23 Championships (2022-2026).
Most recently, Hayes has worked as a personal trainer and coach for The Mountain Project, based locally in Bozeman. She has also spent the last two years privately coaching athletes in endurance sports including Nordic skiing, biathlon, and mountain biking.
