2020-21 Season: Participated in three events at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships … Took ninth in the shot put, 13th in the hammer throw and 16th in the discus … Set lifetime bests in the hammer (159-11), shot put (54-04.75) and discus (158-01) over the course of the season … Competed in 11 combined meets between the indoor and outdoor schedules ... Named to the Big Sky Winter and Spring All-Academic Teams.
2019-20 Season
Indoor (Freshman): Ended season with a 13th-place finish in the shot put at the Big Sky Conference Championships … Competed in six total meets … Set lifetime bests in the shot put of 49-10.50 (15.20m) and 46-08.25 (14.23) in the weight throw at the Big Sky Tuner on Feb. 21. Had highest finishes of fourth on two occasions ... Named to the Big Sky's 2020 Spring All-Academic Team.
Background: Made big strides as a senior for Billings West High School and claimed gold in two events at the MHSA Class AA Championships ... Improved his personal best by seven feet in the shot put and 14 feet in the discus between his junior and senior seasons ... Golden Bears’ thrower captured lifetime bests in shot put (54-03) and discus (169-04) at the state meet en route to taking first in each ... Ended his prep career by taking first in the discus in five straight meets and first in the shot put four consecutive times ... As a junior, Slade made his first MHSA Class AA appearance and placed third in the discus.
