From MSU Coach Jeff Choate: “Derek is a local kid that was going to be a Bobcat regardless. I think he wants to major in aerospace engineering. He’s another really, really smart kid. I love this kid. He exudes blue and gold when you are around him. He is that Montana glue kid you have to have that is going to make everyone realize what a special place this is. And he’s a dang good football player. He was dominant on the defensive line for Belgrade. Another guy who was at our camp at Washington and I got a chance to work with him there. I’m excited to have him on our roster.”
