'Cat Chronicles - Blog 2 - Danielle Muri

.....four Bobcat student-athletes provide a cooperative blog from their own perspective on the adventures they encounter studying abroad this summer.

Florence is by far the coolest place I have ever been to. From the affectionate people, to the delicious food and drink, and the astounding architecture, it is truly a city that everyone should experience! I'm warning you all right now that my blog may sound a little cheesy, but I am so excited to be here and so in love with this town already that I can't help being a little dramatic. Instead of me describing my first few days here, which have been the biggest and best whirlwind I could imagine, I figured I'd just show you:
Picture #1: This is my AWESOME roommate, Katherine. She is from St. Louis, Missouri and loves traveling and adventure as much as I do; we have truly become fast friends. In this picture, towering above us is the beautiful Santa Marie Cathedral topped by the famous Duomo. We haven't climbed to the top yet, but it's only a matter of time.

Last but not least, we viewed Michelangelo's David. I know not everyone is an art lover or even familiar with works of the past, but I'm sure you know of the David. Or recognize him. Standing a massive 17' tall, he captures the gaze of everyone who walks in the room. He is located in La Academia and surrounded by other unfinished statues of Michelangelo. I was truly blown away by the size, beauty, and perfection of this sculpture.
Aside from the incredible views and places we've been, my roommate and I have already met some awesome people- both American and Italian. I could go on and on, but I limited myself to three photos. I hope I conveyed to you my excitement about this city and my passion for discovering everything that's in it! That's all for now- ciao!"
