'Cat Chronicles - Blog 6 - Stephanie Irwin
.....four Bobcat student-athletes provide a cooperative blog from their own perspective on the adventures they encounter studying abroad this summer.

Our summer semester began in Barcelona; from there we made our way to Siena, then Florence, and now Rome, where we will spend our next five weeks. We will also have other side trips including Naples, Venice, Cinque Terra, and Berlin. While in Rome we are living in apartments in the central part of the city, attending class at our studio near the famous Campi di Fiori, and exploring the city.

has been under construction for over
120 years, plans designed by Antoni
Gaudi is still being used.
Our focus on this adventure is a studio design project that is based around a specific site that we ourselves have chosen in Rome. We have yet to know what we are designing, but it should both enhance and reflect the character of the space. It is all up to us! The rest of our curriculum is more history based, which we will experience throughout our travels.
Now that everyone has a summary of what I am doing over here in Europe…I would love to share the rest of my adventures via this photo blog!
Let’s start in Barcelona! It was a great first week that including exploring the coastal city, visiting Antoni Gaudi’s architecture, the Picasso Museum, the German Pavillion, and the beach!
