ABOUT MSU SPIRIT SQUAD
The Montana State Spirit Squad, consisting of both cheer and dance teams, creates and promotes school support, interest in athletics and increased enrollment at Montana State. We seek to develop high team standards and provide quality entertainment.
It is understood that each team member is a student -athlete; student first, athlete second. Each student-athlete will give priority to their education. He or she will be disciplined and dedicated to the team at all times. For both cheer and dance, expect practices to take place three days per week for up to three hours in addition to the Bobcat Athletics event schedule. All members also take part in strength and condition sessions, twice a week with a strength coach. Spirit Squad members may receive up to two elective credits.
The team makes many appearances in the community throughout the year and is very involved in community service opportunities. We are committed to being positive role models.
Scholarship Opportunities
We are very happy to continue to have scholarship money in our program. There are seven fee waivers that are awarded to the Spirit Squad each year (value of $33,000). These scholarship dollars are divided up by the coach’s discretion and guidelines between the members. All members are provided with all uniforms, bags, warm-ups, shoes, practice gear and poms etc.
Scholarships will be announced and determined after tryouts and before the start of the season
