Horton came on strong last season as a true freshman and will be asked to step up her play to another level this fall...the Bobcats will need her consistent play and presence on the court to be successful.
2010
Played in 86 sets, including all 16 Big Sky Conference matches as a true freshman...recorded 177 kills, which was second-highest on the squad...averaged 2.06 kills per set...tallied seven matches in double-figure kills, including a career-best 15 winners at Idaho State...had two matches hitting over .400 from the field, including a season-best .478 (11-0-23) attack mark against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville...dished out ten assists...had four aces, including season-best two versus Idaho State...posted her only double-double of the season with a season-high 10 digs, to go along with 11 kills, against Idaho State...averaged .76 digs per set...ended season with 20 total blocks, including a season-best three total blocks on two occasions, including Eastern Washington and Northern Arizona...in the same match vs. NAU she hammered out 14 kills to go along with a .281 attack mark...logged 191 overall points, which was fourth highest on the squad...had season-best 16.5 points against Northern Arizona.
High School
Prepped at Buchanan High School and played for the Central Cal Volleyball Club, both under the direction of head mentor Marian Battles...during her time at BHS, the Bears posted an overall mark of 76-23, including a 26-7 mark last year...a second-team All Central Section pick, hit .367 from the floor, while posting a .469 kill percentage...as a sophomore, helped her squad to a third place state tournament finish...a three-year letterwinner was a high honor roll student.
