Montana State (2014) Granted a sixth year of eligibility… enters the fall as the starting free safety. (2013) Played in nine games, starting the first five and the last two… missed the NAU, UCD and UNC games with injuries… season-high seven tackles against Stephen F. Austin, also five against SMU and four against Southern Utah. (2012) Played in all 13 games as a reserve cornerback and special teams ace… logged eight tackles and broke up one pass.
Texas Missed 2011 with a knee injury… played in seven games on kick teams in 2010 and one on defense… redshirted in 2009.
High School Two-years as a juniortarter at Trinity HS in Euless, Tex., where he played with current Bobcats DeNarius McGhee and Na’a Moeakiola… logged 67 tackles in his career, with seven interceptions and six pass breakups… tabbed one of Rivals’ top 250 prospects nationally… rated as the nation’s second-most physical corner by Rivals, and as Texas’ fourth-best safety by another service… first team all-district 5-5A as a senior… 19 tackles as a senior, with four picks before a knee injury derailed his senior season… 48 tackles, six pass breakups and three interception.

Personal Born in Fort Worth, Tex… the son of Stephanie Mooring, who competed in track and field at LSU, and Elzie Barnett, who was a second team All-MVC defensive back at Western Illinois (1990-91).
