Bio
Montana State (2012) Missed the first three games with injury, but when healthy was one of the league’s top pass-rushing interior linemen… registered 17 tackles, seven for a loss, with five sacks… broke up four passes and hurried the quarterback twice… got 1.5 sacks against North Dakota, and a key takle-for-loss against the Grizzlies… never lost at Washington-Grizzly Stadium. (2011) Entered his junior season as a reserve defensive tackle, and exited it as a key piece in MSU’s pass rush package… logged two sacks, broke up a pair of passes, and hurried the quarterback once… logged a sack against Idaho State and a half-sack against New Hampshire. (2010) Injured throughout the season. (2009) Saw action on special teams and as a reserve defensive end. (2008) Redshirted.
High School An all-state and all-conference choice at Helena Capital, earning Great Falls Tribune Superstate honors… co-Defensive MVP in Class AA… chosen for Montana Shrine Game and Mon-Dak all-star game… also a basketball and track standout.
Academics Enrolled in animal science.
Personal The brother of former Bobcat linebacker Clay Bignell and cousin of current linemate Nate… born November 11, 1989 in Helena… the son of Carrie and Jim Bignell… his uncle Joe Bignell is a Bobcat Hall of Famer, and a member of MSU’s 1984 National Championship Team.
