BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Montana State women's tennis team returns to the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center to conclude the season when they host Weber State on Sunday.
The Bobcats, who are coming off a pair of conference wins, look to earn their third straight victory at home to end the season. The match is set to begin at 10 a.m., with live results available on msubobcats.com.
"We are looking forward to finishing the regular season strong with another tough conference opponent," head coach Hailey Barrett said. "Weber State has a group of strong competitors, and we are ready for the challenge."
The MSU team will recognize Anna Wise and Kavya Khirwar in a senior day celebration prior to the match, as the duo enters their final regular season match in Blue and Gold.
"It will be great to celebrate Kavya and Anna," Barrett said. "Kavya will graduate in May, and we are so proud of her career with our program. Anna will graduate in December, and she has made a big impact in her one year as a Bobcat. We are excited to see what these two do after they graduate, and they are forever part of the Bobcat Tennis Family."
After securing wins against Northern Arizona and Montana, Montana State is 3-4 in conference play and sitting in seventh in the conference standings. The team looks to secure a spot in the Big Sky Women's Tennis Championships with a win on Sunday.
Last week's 6-1 win over Montana was headlined by a gritty three-set win from Angel Bean which sealed the victory over the in-state rivals. After Lola Bean and Kavya Khirwar came from behind to clinch the doubles point with a 7-5 win, Angel Bean was one of five Bobcats to secure singles points contributing to the team's seventh win of the season.
Weber State is 2-14 on the season and 0-6 in conference play entering the final weekend of the season. The Wildcats will make a stop in Missoula on Saturday for their penultimate match before Sunday's meeting in Bozeman.
