Montana State (6-6) sophomore Angel Bean evened the match with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 victory over Angelina Mihajlovic at No. 4 singles.
Montana State's top doubles duo of Meg McCarty and Jojo Bach got the Bobcats off to a quick start with a 6-2 win at top spot on the ladder, but Grand Canyon answered with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 to claim the first point of the match en route to a 4-2 victory over MSU on Saturday afternoon at the GCU Tennis Facility.
Grand Canyon (8-5) went up 2-0 with a win at No. 3, before sophomore Hudson Hawkins put the Bobcats on the board with a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Peyton Duckett. Montana State (6-6) sophomore Angel Bean evened the match with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 victory over Angelina Mihajlovic at No. 4 singles.
GCU took wins at Nos. 1 and 6 singles to clinch the match. McCarty was up a set at No. 2 singles, but the match went unfinished.
Montana State hosts Portland State, March 14 at 10 a.m. in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
