The junior forward receives all-conference nod for second straight season
FARMINGTON, Utah – Montana State men's basketball forward Brandon Walker was named Honorable Mention All-Big Sky by the league's ten head coaches, the conference office announced on Friday.
Walker, a junior from Oak Cliff, Texas, earns honorable mention all-conference honors for the second straight season,
The Bobcat big man ranks eighth in the Big Sky in points per game (14.7), fourth in field goal percentage (52.8%), and 17th in rebounding (4.9).
Walker has started 29 games for Montana State this year in his second season as a Bobcat, scoring in double-figures 25 times with three 20-point outings, including a career-high 31 points against UC Riverside on Dec. 18, 2024.
According to KenPom.com's All-Conference metrics, Walker has been the fourth-most valuable player in the Big Sky this year.
Walker leads the conference in usage rate (34.7%), is sixth nationally in fouls drawn per 40 minutes (7.5), and ranks 68th in NCAA Division I in field goal percentage (52.8%).
The junior also ranks fifth in the conference in defensive rebounding percentage (21.0%), and 19th in assist rate (16.8%).
No. 5 seed-Montana State squares off with No. 4 seed-Idaho State in the third round of the 2025 Big Sky Basketball Championships on Monday night, with the winner advancing to the semifinals on Tuesday.
Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. from Idaho Central Arena in Boise, Idaho.
The game will be televised regionally on Scripps Sports stations and on the MTN channel statewide, with live streaming on ESPN+. Live radio play-by-play from Voice of the Bobcats Keaton Gillogly will air on the Bobcat Sports Network.
