“I loved our effort against Northwest Nazarene,” Binford said. “I think when you start with great effort on both ends, ball pressure, being aggressive offensively, and sharing the ball, good things happen.”
Montana State head coach Tricia Binford would like to see a higher percentage at the free throw line, better communication on the defensive end, and a cleaner version of themselves, offensively, when the Bobcats meet Bushnell University in exhibition action, Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in Worthington Arena.
"Defensively, we had some really good switches (against Northwest Nazarene), but we didn't communicate it as much as we need to, so I'd like to see more communication on the screen action, and consistent boxouts," Binford said.
Offensively, Montana State shot 44.2% from the field in its 93-41 victory over the Nighthawks on Monday night. MSU also went eight-of-28 from beyond the three-point line and 51.5% (17-33) from the charity stripe. The Cats finished the contest with a positive assist/turnover ratio.
"On the offensive end, we need to clean up our outlets and do a better job getting open," she said. "We had a couple turnovers there, and I think we can get our turnovers down by eliminating waste of dribbles."
Three Bobcats led MSU in scoring on Monday, led by junior Issy Bunyan with 23 points, which included a five-of-nine effort from long distance. Taylee Chirrick added 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Addison Harris chipped in 16 points and five boards.

Bushnell, a NAIA program from Eugene, Ore., which plays in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, went 11-18 overall last season and 10-12 in CCC action. Ayden Krupke, 5-6 junior guard from Edwall, Wash., guides the Beacons. Last winter, she averaged 11.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, while connecting on 34 three-pointers.
Montana State opens regular season play on Tuesday, Nov. 4 against Carroll College at 7 p.m. in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
