Of Montana State’s 400 student-athletes, 79% registered a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Montana State student-athletes compiled an average grade-point average (GPA) of 3.42 during the fall semester according to the program's most recent academic report released this week by the Bozeman Health Academic Excellence Center.
Of Montana State's 400 student-athletes, 79% registered a 3.0 GPA or higher. Fifty Bobcats were named to the President's List with a perfect 4.0 GPA, while 136 student-athletes found themselves on the Dean's List (3.50 – 3.99). In all, ninety-three student-athletes received all A's or A-'s.
"Bobcat student-athletes continue to set a new standard of excellence in the classroom," said MSU Director of Athletics Leon Costello. "Each team is over a 3.0 GPA and the average student-athlete GPA of 3.42 is an all-time high at MSU. Not only are they achieving record levels in the classroom, they are doing so in competition. It is a great story to tell that academic and competitive goals at MSU can be attained simultaneously.
"I want to thank our coaches, academic staff, and campus community for their dedication and support to the academic mission of our Bobcat student-athletes."
The Bobcat golf program boasted the departments top team GPA at 3.763, narrowly edging out women's basketball (3.729) and men's cross country (3.728).
