“I’m really proud of how we competed,” said MSU head coach Suzie Woodburn.
The Montana State women's tennis team completed its Idaho road trip sweeping Lewis-Clark State 7-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Bobcats defeated Idaho 4-3 on Friday in Moscow.
Montana State (9-4) captured all three doubles matches to earn the first point.
"I'm really proud of how we competed," said MSU head coach Suzie Woodburn. "We were able to take care of business and play with joy. Each player stepped out on the court ready to battle and to play their tennis."
Junior Mia Ljubas highlighted MSU's play, combining with freshman Angel Bean at No. 3 doubles where the tandem notched a 6-0 victory over Paige Noble-Lucas and Bonolo Molefe, before the Seattle, Wash., product posted a 6-2, 6-2 win over Naiara Montero at No. 6 singles. The matches were Ljubas' first appearances of the season.
"It was awesome to see Mia get her first dual match doubles and singles wins as a Bobcat," Woodburn said. "It was a great end to our weekend, and we are excited for what's to come."
MSU swept all six singles matches in straight sets.
