Bobcat Quarterback Tommy Mellott Named Walter Camp FCS Player of the Year

Mellott earns national player of the year award
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State quarterback Tommy Mellott was named Walter Camp's 2024 Football Championship Subdivision Player of the Year.
The award, presented by Crabtree Lexus of New Haven, is in its second year and is in conjunction with the Walter Camp Foundation's All-America teams. The senior from Butte has led the Bobcats to a 15-0 record in 2024, and a berth in Monday's FCS National Championship against North Dakota State.
A unanimous First Team All-America, Mellot was also named Big Sky Conference Offensive Most Valuable Player and first team all-conference. He leads the FCS in passing efficiency and points responsible for. In 2023, Mellott earned the Stats Perform Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete Award for his performance on the field, in the classroom and in community service. He is one of three Walter Payton Award finalists invited to the Stats Perform FCS Awards Banquet on Saturday.
