Rohan Jones, Scottre Humphrey game time decision, Hunter Provience ruled out
BOZEMAN, Montana – Bobcat home football games are always a reason to celebrate, but six Bobcats did some well-deserved celebrating earlier in the day.
Six current MSU football players earned their diplomas from Montana State University today – Miles Jackson (Construction Engineering Technology), Nicholas Korom (Philosophy), Tommy Mellott (Financial Engineering), McCade O'Reilly (Finance), Dru Polidore (Finance), and Tommy Sullivan (Marketing). All but Mellott walked during this morning's ceremony in Max Worthington Arena.

A trio of key offensive contributors may not play for the Bobcats tonight. Tight end Hunter Provience is out, and starting running back Scottre Humphrey and and fullback Rohan Jones are game time decisions. Jones and Humphrey plan to warm up tonight in an effort to play.

Tonight's game marks the second time in three seasons that the Bobcats have faced the same opponent twice in one campaign. Big Sky rival Weber State visited Bobcat Stadium twice in 2022, as the Vandals are this season. Since World War II, the previous occurrences involved Idaho State. The Bengals and Bobcats played twice in 1954 (Montana State won both) and 1955 (the Bengals won both), both home-and-home affairs within the same season. Those same teams met twice in 1973, with ISU visiting Bozeman to help open Reno H. Sales Stadium.

Montana State's 13 wins in 2024 is a program record.

Vandals quarterback Jack Layne missed the previous matchup between these teams in October with an injury, but Idaho is 4-1 when he starts this season. The only loss was at Oregon.

Helena High grad Keyshawn James-Newby of Idaho leads the Big Sky with 10 sacks in 2024.
