Ty McCullouch slated to debut for the Bobcats today...
BOZEMAN, Montana - Bobcat quarterback Sean Chambers won't spend a lot of time watching Portland State's offense today, but he knows the pedigree of Vikings starting signal caller Dante Chachere.
"Reppin' the 559," he said in an interview with Alex Eschelman of the Big Sky Conference this week. Chachere hails from Fresno, California, 20 miles down the road from Chambers' hometown of Kerman. While the valley that encompasses the area is not considered as rich a recruiting ground as it is an agricultural mecca. But it certainly is, and Chambers boasts of it with pride, particularly his hometown.
"You don't have to leave (Kerman) and transfer to a bigger school," he said.
The 559 will definitely be well-represented in Bobcat Stadium today. Chambers rushes for 63.0 yards a game, while Chachere adds 48.5 to the Vikings attack. Chambers has thrown for 418 yards on the season, Chachere 394.

Montana State's warmup period today will be one to watch, with the program's coaching and medical staffs utilizing it to evaluate the availability of key players. Running back Julius Davis is a game time decision, and cornerback Simeon Woodard is as well. The status of both depends on their ability to function during warmups.
Receiver Ty McCullouch makes his Bobcat debut today after battling injuries since the preseason. He plays as MSU's primary punt returner today, and could also see action at receiver.

On the day he makes his first career start, McCade O'Reilly will also carry the state flag of his native Montana into Bobcat Stadium. During pregame (about 1:40 pm) he will receive that flag from the player that earned All-America honors as a Bobcat linebacker just last season - McCade's brother Callahan O'Reilly, an all-time great Bobcat.

Today is Portland State's first visit to Bobcat Stadium since 2017, a 30-22 MSU victory. The Bobcats have won three straight and 11 of the last 12 in the series. This rivalry, rekindled when PSU joinedthe Big Sky in 1996, was once tilted the other way. After a 24-6 win by the Cats the Vikings rampaged to five straight victories.
