Bobcats open up the offense for the Gold Rush sellout
* Montana State's 63 points against Utah Tech in Saturday's Gold Rush game was the program's most in a season opener and its most in a home opener
* Freshman running back Scottre Humphrey rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns against Utah Tech on Saturday, becoming the first Bobcat true freshman to surpass the 100-yard mark or score three touchdowns in a season opener since at least World War II. Humphrey scored MSU's first points of the season on a two-yard run with 4:55 to play in the first quarter to give the Cats a 7-0 lead, then expanded the lead to 28-3 with a 29-yard run midway through the second quarter. He scored again on a nine-yarder midway through the third quarter.
* The Cats won their ninth straight game when opening the season at home on Saturday.
* MSU's 407 yards rushing in Saturday's Gold Rush game was the most in a Bobcat opener in at least the last 40 years.
* The sellout crowd of 21,967 was the second-largest in Bobcat Stadium history, and marked MSU's 14th straight regular season sellout.
* MSU has won 21 straight home games, the school's longest such streak ever.
* Sean Chambers' two touchdowns Saturday raise his career total to 21, just shy of MSU's career top 10 list, in only 13 career games.
* Montana State's three passes intercepted on Saturday marked the team's most since picking off three against Idaho State last year, and the +3 turnover margin was matched or topped only twice in 2003, when the team' finished +13.
