James Campbell and Ty Okada Land with Seahawks, while Callahan O'Reilly gains opportunity with Bears
BOZEMAN, Montana – Three Bobcat football players took a step toward realizing their professional dreams on Sunday by signing with NFL teams.
Safety Ty Okada and cornerback James Campbell both signed free agent contracts with the Seattle Seahawks. Callahan O'Reilly, a linebacker, accepted a mini-camp invitation with the Chicago Bears. The three helped form the core of a defense in 2022 that led Montana State to a third straight trip to the FCS Playoffs Semifinals, and the program's first Big Sky Championship since 2012.
Campbell intercepted his first two career passes as a senior, and they came in consecutive wins against UC Davis and Idaho State. Okada, ranked the 26th safety in the draft by Dane Brugler of The Athletic. He earned Second Team All-Big Sky honors as a senior and captured College Sports Madness Big Sky Player of the Week honors for his 10-tackle, one interception performance against Northern Colorado. O'Reilly earned Third Team All-America and First Team All-Big Sky honors as a senior. Okada and O'Reilly served as team captains in 2022.
