The Bobcats’ best finish of the 20K classical race belonged to Tilde Bångman, who covered the course in a time of 1:12:52.8, finishing sixth overall.

The Montana State ski team sits in fourth place in the team standings after the first day of the Spencer James Nelson Memorial Colorado Invitational on Friday at Howelsen Hill.

The Bobcats' best finish of the 20K classical race belonged to Tilde Bångman, who covered the course in a time of 1:12:52.8, finishing sixth overall. Also scoring for MSU were Emma Albrecht, 10^th, 1:13:32.1, and Anna Pryce, 13^th, 1:14:09.4.

Colorado's Hanna Abrahamsson won the women's event in 1:08:41.0.

The MSU men were paced by Florian Winker, who placed 11^th with a clocking of 1:02:59.7. He was followed by Kai Meyers, 14^th, 1:04:15.7, and Reed Godfrey, 15^th, 1:06:21.5.

Denver's Andreas Kirkeng captured the men's race in 1:00:00.5.

After two events, CU sits atop the team standings with 179 points, followed by Utah 152, DU 144, MSU 122, Alaska Fairbanks 118, Alaska Anchorage 72, and Wyoming 15.

The Nordic freestyle races will be held Saturday, while the alpine portion of the meet will run Feb. 9-10 at Eldora Mountain Resort.
