BOZEMAN, Montana – Five Montana State players earned CSC Academic All-District honors Tuesday as selected by College Sports Communicators.

Defensive end Brody Grebe (jr., Melstone), Brendan Hall (jr., Springtown, Texas), Ben Seymour (sr., Valencia, California), Marcus Wehr (jr., Billings) made the list for the first time. The teams were selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly College Sports Information Directors of America) to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for performance in both competition and academics.
All five student-athletes excelled on the field for the Bobcats this year. Mellott rushed for 690 yards and five touchdowns, throwing for 1,059 yards and 10 scores, in his nine games. Grebe's 10 sacks was ninth in the FCS this season and his 13.5 tackles-for-loss was fourth in the Big Sky. Hall averaged 46.1 yards per punt, helping the Cats lead the FCS in net punting. Seymour logged 5.5 sacks and eight tackles-for-loss. Wehr, MSU's right tackle, finished the regular season as the top-rated offensive lineman in the FCS by PFF.
The 2023 Academic All-District squads, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly College Sports Information Directors, or CoSIDA) honor the nation's top student-athletes for performance in competition, the classroom, and the community.
