BOZEMAN, Montana - Montana State landed in the top four of a second FCS preseason poll on Monday when Athlon Sports ranked the Cats fourth, and a Bobcat legend remained on the National Football Foundation College Hall of Fame ballot for 2023.
The reigning FCS National Runner-up Bobcats stand fourth, one of three Big Sky programs in the top 10 and five in the top 15. Montana stands third, reigning league champion Sacramento State sixth, Weber State 13th and Eastern Washington 15th. HERO Sports previously ranked the Bobcats third nationally, and in tandem the two preseason polls mark MSU's highest preseason ranking since beginning 2013 ranked second. The full poll is below.
Denver Broncos defensive line coach Bill Kollar, one of the most decorated Bobcats of all time, is in his second season on the NFF College Hall of Fame ballot in 2023. Kollar was a two-time All-America and three-time All-Big Sky choice from 1971-73, landing Big Sky Defensive MVP and Senior Bowl MVP honors. Find the full NFF release here.
