
Montana State Adds Three Players to 2022 Football Team

One transfer and two prep stars join the Bobcats
BOZEMAN, Montana – The Montana State football team announced the addition three players Friday, when cornerback Takhari Carr, defensive lineman Kadren Johnson and offensive lineman Bear Old officially joined the Bobcats. All three arrive at MSU before preseason camp.
A 5-11, 175 lb product of from Dominguez High School in Compton, California, Carr recorded nine interceptions, 12 pass deflections and 43 total tackles per MaxPreps. He also caught 15 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns, while scoring on punt, kickoff and interception returns. He earned All-CIF and All-Dream Team honors and was named all-league three times each in football and basketball. A three-year starter, he picked off three passes on one playoff game last fall.
Johnson transfers to Montana State after two seasons at Abilene Christian. He played 11 games for the Wildcats in 2021, logging 20 total tackles, three for a loss, with one sack. He forced and recovered one fumble each and hurried the passer three times. In five 2020 games at ACU, he recorded nine tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery. The Lewisville (Texas) High School product played in seven games with 21 tackles and three sacks at Navarro College in Texas in 2019. He played at Navarro under current MSU assistant defensive line coach Nick Jean-Baptiste and joins MSU with two years of eligibility.
The Bobcats also officially added offensive lineman Bear Old from Rabun County High School in Georgia to the program in March. At 6-5, 280 lbs, Old has played each offensive line position but primarily worked at guard. He earned all-state honors twice and was named all-region three times at Rabun.
