Despite a match-high 18 kills from junior Kira Thomsen, the Montana State volleyball team dropped a 25-15, 27-25, 22-25, 25-15 decision to Montana on Friday night in Dahlberg Arena.
Despite a match-high 18 kills from junior Kira Thomsen, the Montana State volleyball team dropped a 25-15, 27-25, 22-25, 25-15 decision to Montana on Friday night in Dahlberg Arena.
For the match, Montana State (11-15, 7-7) hit just .109 from the field, while Montana (16-10, 9-5) hit .209.
"We lost the serve-pass game," said acting head coach Cole Aiazzi. "I thought our block got established midway through the match, but we need to do a better job behind it, defensively. Kira and Jourdain (Klein) sparked us on offense.
"We'll continue to learn and work on getting better," Aiazzi added. "We're still looking for that match where we have everyone firing on all cylinders at the same time."
Klein, a sophomore from Ennis, finished with nine kills and a team-best six blocks. Lauren Lindseth and Courtney Weatherby paced the Bobcats defensively with 13 and 12 digs, respectively.
Montana State closes out the regular season next week at Weber State and Idaho State.
