Bobcats Sit Sixth after Nordic Portion of Utah Invitational

Aubrey LeClair led the Montana State Nordic contingent at the University of Utah Invitational placing 13th in the women’s 10-kilometer classic on Thursday afternoon at Soldier Hollow.

The classic races wrapped-up MSU's Nordic portion of the invitational with the Bobcats sitting sixth with 213 points. Defending national champion Utah remained atop the standings with 346 points followed by Alaska Anchorage 331, Colorado 304, Denver 252, Alaska Fairbanks 221, MSU, and Wyoming 97.
LeClair, a junior from Anchorage, Alaska, covered the course in 32:47.9. She was followed by teammates Adrianna Proffitt, 15th, 33:27.6, and Emma Albrecht, 17th, 35:02.8. Freshman Lily Murnane did not start the race.
Utah's Sydney Palmer-Leger won the women's individual title in 29:35.7.
The Bobcat men were paced by Eli Hermanson, who finished the men's 15k event in 44:39.0. He was followed by Kai Meyers, 19th, 45:01.4, Jack Conde, 24th, 49:40.2, and Joel Power, 26th, 51.16.4. Reed Godfrey did not start the race.
Alaska Anchorage's J.C. Schoonmaker captured the men's championship in 40:10.9.
The alpine races for the Utah Invitational will begin on Jan. 24 with giant slalom in Park City, Utah.
