Bobcat passing game bolstered by addition ot two transfers
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State added experience to its 2022 offense this week when transfers Sean Chambers, a quarterback from Wyoming, and receiver Ravi Alston from St. John's (Minnesota) joined the Bobcats.
Chambers (6-3, 225) started seven games for Wyoming in 2021, including the season opener against the Bobcats. He led UW to a come-from-behind win in that game, and started 19 times in his 22 career games played at Wyoming. The Kerman, California, product threw for 1,125 yards (90-for-177, six touchdowns and seven interceptions) in 2021 and for 2,312 yards in his career. He also rushed for 1,105 yards in his career, including three games of at least 100 yards in 2019.
Alston (6-3, 205, Lake Elsinore, California) led the Division III Johnnies with 65 catches for 906 yards in 2021, and in 2019 finished third in NCAA Division III with 1,444 receiving yards on 88 catches with 13 touchdowns. He caught 153 passes for 2,350 yards and 22 touchdowns in his career for St. John's. Alston earned Associated Press and AFCA Second Team All-America honors in 2021, and was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference MVP, the first sime a receiver has landed that honor since 2003. He was also an AP All-America in 2019.
"We are very excited to add Sean and Ravi to our program," Vigen said. "They both add talent, playmaking ability and leadership to our offense. It was great to integrate them with the team this week and our coaches look forward to working with them on the field during spring ball."
