Bobcat Athletics Adds to Academic, Equipment Staffs

Three new staff members join MSU Athletics
BOZEMAN, Montana (August 19, 2021) – Bobcat Athletics filled key staff positions Friday, adding Casey O'Brien and Morgan Gates to the equipment staff and Caitlyn Jordan-Kalfell to student-athlete academic services.
After eight years in private industry, Jordan-Kalfell joins Bobcat Athletics as Academic Coordinator. Since 2020 she worked as Lead Health Coach for Healthy is Wellness, LLC. From 2013 to 2020, she was a Master Resilience Trainer at Magellan Federal/AFSC. A Linfield College graduate with a B.S. in Athletic Training (2008), Jordan-Kalfell earned her M.S. in Physical Education with an emphasis in Sports Psychology in 2013. She is certified as a mental performance coach, strength and conditioning coach, and athletic trainer.
O'Brien comes to Montana State after two years as head equipment manager at Mercer, and fills that role in Bobcat Athletics. Prior to that he interned in Wake Forest's athletics equipment room and worked as head equipment manager at NCAA Division II Bentley. At MSU, O'Brien directly supervises the equipment needs of the Bobcat football program and also coordinates all of the department's efforts in that area. A Waltham, Massachusetts, product, O'Brien graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2014.
After six years with the Northern Illinois athletic equipment staff, Gates joins Bobcat Athletics as Assistant Director of Equipment. She was involved in maintenance, distribution and set up of equipment for football and several other sports at NIU, where she worked as a student assistant and most recently graduate assistant.
