Lewis Kidd is the latest of Montana State's All-America offensive linemen
Bobcats by the Numbers takes a look at current and past Bobcats whose jersey numbers correspond to the number of days remaining before Montana State opens the 2021 football season at Wyoming on September 4.

Lewis Kidd, OT: Lewis Kidd checks all the boxes. Great player? Check. Versatile, and willing to do whatever it takes for team success? Bold-faced check mark. Personable and friendly, and also a stand-up guy who represents the program impeccably? Big-time check mark. Kidd has worked as a long-term sub physical education at Gallatin High for the last few months, and the 2021 season marks his second as a team captain. He is the eighth MSU captain from Minnesota. Kidd is a likely preseason All-America, and could become the 11th different Bobcat All-America offensive lineman in the 21st century.
Spotlight: Greatness in star football players usually emerges early in a career, then foments for a while. Think DeNarius McGhee, or Mitch Herbert. Sometimes, but rarely, it slaps you in the face late in a players career, like taking a bite of a tart apple. Brad Daly and Caleb Schreibeis fall into that category. But sometimes a player is important even before he arrives, and then lives up to expectations. That was the case with Jeff Hansen, who came to MSU from Montana prep football powerhouse CM Russell in Great Falls as a very important recruit for Mike Kramer. He started at center as a freshman, and at right guard for the next three seasons. Hansen anchored some of Jason McEndoo's terrifically talented offensive lines for the Cats, was an honorable mention All-America in 2008 and a first team selection as a senior one year later. He was Second Team All-Big Sky in 2008 and First Team in 2009. Hansen was a legitimately great player for the Bobcats, and his status – along with players like Dustin O'Connell and Michael Rider and Mike Person - helped Rob Ash's program helped establish a recruiting presence in the Treasure State that ensured success for years to come.

Biastoch followed that with the same honors the next season, playing as a dominant lineman throughout his time at Montana State and earning induction into the Bobcat Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.
