BOBCATS BY THE NUMBERS: 98 Days Until MSU Visits Wyoming

A look at a couple of tough, undersized defensive linemen...
Bobcats by the Numbers takes a look at current and past Bobcats whose jersey numbers correspond to the number of days remaining before Montana State opens the 2021 football season at Wyoming on September 4.
#98
Ben Seymour, DL: A transfer from the College of the Canyons last summer, Ben Seymour flashed during the fall. He displayed the explosiveness that allowed him to roll up 19.5 tackles-for-loss in 12 games as a freshman in 2019. As a lean, explosive pass rusher he could impact the Bobcats as a sophomore this fall.
Bobcat Spotlight: #98 – Beau Clark, a local product from Belgrade came to MSU as an under-the-radar prospect, but he wore his love of the Bobcats on his sleeve. Clark was a favorite here at BBTN even before becoming the rodeo coach at the University of Wyoming, largely because he was a tough, quiet guy who worked hard to find a niche and then became a productive defensive lineman. Arguably Clark's greatest moment in the Blue and Gold came in Montana State's first home win against the Grizzlies since 1985, a memorable 2003 afternoon when he racked up nine tackles, three for a loss, with two sacks, for his hometown team. Clark was a great Bobcat, enjoyed some success as a bulldogger after hanging up his shoulder pads and helmet, and is now leading the Cowboys and Cowgirls to success in Laramie.
Chronology: Bart McCool (1980-83), Kip Halvorson (1984-86), Monty Peretto (1988-92), Jamie Roark (1993-94), Alex Silicz (1995-99), Beau Clark (2000-04), Matt Peebles (2005-06), Casey Dennehy (2007), Christian Keli'i (2008-11), Kris Cooper (2012), Luke Halliburton (2012-13), Riley Griffiths (2015), Austin Barrette (2016), Elu Leota (2017), Ethan Bullock (2019-20), Ben Seymour (2020-).
