Montana State football closes Brent Vigen's first spring as head coach in traditional fashion
BOZEMAN, Montana – Bobcat Athletics announced plans to welcome 2,500 masked and socially-distanced fans to the annual Sonny Holland Classic Presented by the Rocking R Bar on April 24 in Bobcat Stadium. The annual scrimmage caps Brent Vigen's first spring coaching the Montana State football team.
This year's Sonny Holland Classic marks the return of fans to Bobcat Stadium for the first time since the Cats topped Austin Peay in December, 2019, to advance to the NCAA FCS Playoffs semifinal round. The 2021 spring session arrived at MSU along with Vigen, for the past seven seasons the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Wyoming. The Sonny Holland Classic Presented by the Rocking R Bar marks the public unveiling of Vigen's leadership of the Bobcats.
The scrimmage begins at 1 pm, with doors open at 12 noon. Admission is free but tickets are required and limited. They can be claimed in pairs, up to four each, beginning Friday, April 16, at msubobcats.com/tickets. Season ticket holders, Bobcat Quarterback Club members and MSU students will have priority access, with notification via email. Face coverings and social distancing are required, with no concessions or merchandise on sale and outside food and drink (except water bottles) prohibited. Tailgating is also strictly prohibited and individual suites/club levels will not be open.
SWX will televise the Sonny Holland Classic Presented by the Rocking R Bar statewide.
