DeNarius McGhee and a staunch defense led the Bobcats to a Gold Rush win

SPOTLIGHT: In the earliest date ever for a Bobcat football game, Montana State stoked the passions of a frenzied sellout crowd of 21,007 early. MSU scored three touchdowns in their first 12 plays from scrimmage of the 2013 Gold Rush Game and coasted past Monmouth 42-24. The Cats rolled up 561 yards, with senior quarterback DeNarius McGhee throwing for 240 and rushing for 54 more. Things got rolling early, when McGhee hit receiver Brian Flotkoetter for 30 yards on the first play of the game. Defensive linemen Craig Ashworth and Brad Daly led MSU's defensive effort.
