Bozeman Health Clinic to Serve Bobcat Student-Athletes, MSU Faculty and Staff
BOZEMAN – Montana State University and Bozeman Health, institutions that trace their Gallatin Valley roots back more than a century, extended and strengthened their long-standing partnership Monday by announcing a Bozeman Health Clinic in the new athletics complex at Bobcat Stadium.
The clinic, residing in the building currently under construction just off Bobcat Stadium's north end zone, will serve Montana State University faculty and staff. Along with Bobcat student-athletes and coaches, those individuals will have access to the care provided by the clinic's Bozeman Health staff.
"This is an innovative partnership that benefits the entire Montana State University community," said MSU's Director of Athletics Leon Costello. "The collaboration between Bozeman Health and MSU has benefited the community and Southwest Montana for many years, and the year that Bozeman Health has worked with Bobcat Athletics as our primary health care provider has been critical to our success."
The collaborative relationship between MSU and Bozeman Health has included the WWAMI Regional Medication Education Program and programs within MSU's School of Nursing. The two institutions are providing a coordinated effort to address the COVID-19 pandemic, with Montana State personnel and equipment supporting the testing and essential care provided by Bozeman Health.
In August 2019, Bobcat Athletics contracted with Bozeman Health as the official health care provided for Bobcat student-athletes. Coordinated by Drs. Karl Reisig and Jeff Rasch, along with Crystal Skovly, PA-C, Bozeman Health's work with Bobcat Athletics ranges from sports physicals and orthopedic injuries to concussion evaluation and non-athletics care, such as mental health management, eating disorders, and other health and well-being concerns.
Bozeman Health's 5,500-square-foot clinic inside the building at Bobcat Stadium, announced at a press conference Monday near the clinic's site, will provide support for MSU's Athletic Training staff. It also offers care to Bobcat Athletics staff and MSU faculty and staff and their family members and dependents.
Bozeman Health also announced a $2 million contribution toward the completion of the facility, allowing MSU to complete its $18 million capital campaign. Bozeman Health's contribution comes over a seven-year period.
The clinic, Bozeman Health's donation, and the naming rights to the renovated athletic academic services area inside Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, were announced by MSU President Dr. Waded Cruzado, Bozeman Health President and CEO John Hill and chief physician officer Dr. Mark Williams, and MSU Director of Athletics Leon Costello.
