Ethan Bullock enters 2020 as a tight end prospect...
June 8: Bobcats by the Numbers takes a look at current and past Bobcats whose jersey numbers correspond to the number of days remaining before Montana State opens the 2020 football season against Long Island in Bobcat Stadium's annual Gold Rush game in September!
#89
Ethan Bullock, TE: A rangy, athletic tight end, if Ethan Bullock can emerge in a crowded Bobcat tight end group he could bring pass-catching productivity to the MSU offense.
89 – The number of First, Second or Third Team All-Big Sky selections for the Bobcats since the beginning of the 2008 season. On that entire list only one player's name appears four times – Chad Newell, twice for special teams and once each at running back and fullback. (Among others, the list would include DeNarius McGhee if expanded to include honorable mention selections.)
Chronology: Gary Dusenberry (1956), Frank LaMasse (1970-71), Bryan Flaig (1974-76), Dan Davies (1977-78), Neil Parker (1979), Kevin White (1980), Brent Baker (1982), Brent Bateman (1983-84), Scotty Neuman (1985), Toby Pettit (1986), Mike Schwartz (1987-88), Wade Rademacher (1989), Matt Huffield (1989), Jim Gersack (1992-93), Craig Zimmerman (1995), Jesse Marunde (1999, 2001), Demeadri Oliver (2000), Cody Samuelson (2002-03), Jaren Stensland (2004), Mike Van Gorden (2005), Josh Lewis (2006), Steven Foster (2008-11), Chris Houden (2012-13), Wilson Brott (2014-15), Clark Judisch (2016-18), Jack Galt (2019), Ethan Bullock (2020-)
Other 89 Notes: Bryan Flaig caught 71 passes wearing #89 for the Bobcats, more than runnerup Josh Lewis' 46 catches in 2006… Current MSU Associate Athletic Director Dan Davies proudly wore #89 for the Bobcats in 1977 and '78. Unlike many players, there was no story behind Davies' jersey choice. "I was just happy to have a number," the proud Chinook Sugarbeeter says with a smile.
