Bobcats Tabbed No. 5 in Athlon FCS Preseason Top 25

Montana State one of three Big Sky teams landing in the top 10

BOZEMAN – Montana State landed fifth in the Athlon Sports preseason poll Tuesday, the second time the Cats have been selected in the top 10 of a major poll.
MSU joins Weber State, like the Bobcats one of two Big Sky squads advancing to the 2019 FCS Playoffs Semifinals, in the top five. The Wildcats check in at third in the Athlon poll, while Montana is No. 7. Sacramento State (12th) and Eastern Washington (20th) also represent the league.
Reigning national champion North Dakota State is No. 1 in the Athlon poll, while its Missouri Valley Football Conference rival Northern Iowa is second. South Dakota State (No. 6) and Illinois State (No. 9) also represent the MVFC in the top 10.
