Freshman Seger Leads Bobcat Skiers at RMISA Giant Slalom Qualifier

Montana State freshman Riley Seger posted his best finish of the season, placing third in the men’s giant slalom in the final Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association qualifier of the season.

Montana State freshman Riley Seger posted his best finish of the season, placing third in the men's giant slalom in the final Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association qualifier of the season. The product of Vancouver, B.C. posted a two-run total of 1:54.17.

The RMISA Qualifier, which does not count towards any team scoring, is used as an extra opportunity for skiers to earn qualification points for the NCAA Championships, which the Bobcats host March 11-14 at Bridger Bowl and Crosscut Mountain Sports Center.

Haley Cutler led the Bobcat women's team placing tenth overall in 1:53.89.

Montana State will host the RMISA/NCAA West Regional Championships on Friday and Saturday in both alpine and Nordic disciplines. The giant slalom and 5/10-km freestyle events will be held on Friday, with the slalom and 15/20-km classic races concluding the championships on Saturday at Bridger and Crosscut Mountain.
