Bobcat Tennis Team Splits Matches in Boise

The Montana State women’s tennis team split a pair of matches in Boise, Idaho, defeating Linfield College 7-0 and dropping a 7-0 decision to the Broncos in the Boas Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
BOISE, Idaho – The Montana State women's tennis team split a pair of matches in Boise, Idaho, defeating Linfield College 7-0 and dropping a 7-0 decision to the Broncos in the Boas Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
In its victory over the Wildcats, MSU captured the opening doubles point with victories at all three spots on the ladder. Montana State's duo of Mirte Van Baelen and JJ Chen clinched the point defeating Haley Fujimori and Maggie Fiocchi at No. 3 doubles 6-0.
The Bobcats won all six singles matches in straight sets as Laura Mary put the contest away at the top spot defeating Michelle Uyeda 6-3, 6-2.
Boise State picked up victories at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles to earn the first point in its match with MSU.
The Broncos captured all six singles matches, but not without a fight from the Bobcats. The middle of MSU's ladder all went three sets before eventually falling to BSU.
MSU will play at UTEP in El Paso, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 29.
